The trails go pretty far back and are great because you can switch them up for a shorter or longer workout. Red rock trail is my personal favorite because of the sheer beauty of the rock formations. The only thing about this wilderness park is that I would definitely recommend going here with a partner. Enjoy!

(January 3, 2019, 2:34 am)My goodness, some reviewers write as if they've never before seen or heard a mountain biker. Sure, there were some on trail but it wasn't as if the trails were a race course.Anyway, the fantastic walk to Red Rock Canyon consists of 2 miles (one-way) and very little elevation gain. The hiker-only trail begins about 1.3 miles from the trailhead and the unusual red rocks are definitely worth the trip. You'll pay $3 in the little lot just to the north of the Ralph's supermarket (the lots are connected) and you'll have a partially-shaded walk throughout. Enjoy!

(January 1, 2019, 9:27 pm)This one of my favorite hikes in Orange County! So many trails to choose from for easy-moderate skill level. First thing’s first: PARKING! If you google Ralph’s on Portola parkway, the trail parking lot is literally connected. Beware, it’s small and costs $3 but they take credit card. Second thing: it’s best to wear hiking boots because some parts are rocky and sandy... especially if you want to climb up the red rock canyon mountains, some parts could get slippery but the views are worth it!! Expect some narrow/shaded trails, pretty mountainous views, and far far away you’ll even be able to see the ocean. ???? enjoy and start early!
