I feel in love w this park when I took my 1st boxer. Lots of trails, clean, has areas for BBQs, picnic benches, places to camp out and bathrooms. Love the views any which way I look. Its very coming and away from the city life( Breath o fresh air) Clean from trash And the squirrels u can tell they have been feeding well. Just fallow the season instructions u are out in the wild life.
Really fun and pretty easy hike, you can make it more challenging by keeping a pretty quick pace. You need to have an adventure pass to park, if you don't have one you can stop at Trabuco General Store and pick one up!This trail is pretty cool, for most of the hike you really don't feel like you're in Orange County...some of the vegetation is very tropical looking. There's a couple cool "tunnels" that were formed out of trees and plants, most of the hike is "semi-covered." The elevation climb starts slow, but increases rapidly. It's the perfect trail to run, if you're in good shape since you get to soak yourself in the chilly falls at the top! I'm pretty sure you could mountain bike most of it, but I didn't see anybody doing that, so not sure if it's allowed, people were biking lower down the trail area though.
As a local I love O´Neill Regional Park because it is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of South Orange County. Whether you are a local or a visitor, this is a great place to hike, camp with the family, and overall to experience the outdoors. I am not sure about the pricing for the camp grounds, but this is a great place for a trial run camp out with the family. Especially before a big camping trip that is 3 plus hours away. Enjoy the great outdoors Southern California has to offer!
Great place to camp with the family. Rangers were very polite and helpful. The nights were quite and relaxing.Bathrooms were fairly clean except for the feces someone left in the shower stall. I almost past out from the smell and site. I cant believe how someone could be so inconsiderate and disgusting. That's why i gave it a four star.
Excellent park for a small hike or a picnic, lots of shade and not to crowded. Everything is well maintained and the feeling of solitude and going back in time is great! Very nice place for nature lovers!
