“We had a leak on the flat portion of our roof during the most recent rains that was leaking directly into our sons room. We were able to get a tarp up to handle the majority of the water until the rain stopped. I called multiple other roofing companies to which I got the same answer, "you are going to be waiting a few weeks, we are really backed up." We had used Roofing Standards on our commercial building previously with awesome results (that's another story). I called and spoke to one of the ladies in the office who were able to slip me in between some of the larger commercial repairs they had going on at the time. The guys came over the next day and took care of our problem, cleaned their work area and even folded up our tarp. I will be using these guys again. They have continued to impress us in both commercial and residential services.”

“My father in law is 84 years old and live right next door to me. I was more than past time to find a roofer for his 1700 square foot single story home in orange county. Though he is still quite sharp I didn’t want him to have to interview roofers on his own for obvious reasons. We met with five different roofers and spoke at least a dozen total. One dispicable company quoted us triple our next highest bid. We watched stupid video presentations and listened to endless tales of how great their company was. We just wanted a roof, a simple asphalt shingle roof. Along comes Luis Mendoza roofing. Luis Mendoza Jr. Showed up at my father in laws house on time, polite humble and informative. Both my father in law and I spoke after our short and to the point meeting with Luis and decided they were the one. We checked their references and their legalese and found everything to our liking. We called Luis back and told them they were our choice. He gave us a date, got us our permit, scheduled the inspections and ordered the material. They asked for and received 1000 dollars down and never asked for more until the job was completely finished. They met every deadline and always communicated with us about what was next and what to expect. The day they ripped the old roof off and discovered 18 sheets of bad plywood they had at least 8 people on the roof. From that day forward they were at the house at 0700 hrs and stayed until the sun dropped from the sky. There was a lot of wood to replace! All the plywood, rafter tails and facia board prices were agreed upon in contract before the job began. Luis Mendoza Senior was on the roof with at least one of his sons most days. I was impressed with his entire operation. They ran the cleanest job site I’ve ever seen. I was very impressed every step of the way. Any miscommunications we had were quickly addressed. For example, I arrived home for lunch to see the crew putting the finishing touches on the roof. I noticed they hadn’t installed the ventilated ridge cap we ordered but a standard one instead. I spoke with one of his sons about this. He got right on the phone and spoke with his father. I offered to forego the vented cap and they could just take it off the bill as the roof was done and looked great. His son got off the phone, looked at me and said, “My dad said we promised it and we will do it.” 1 Hour later 6 guys were on the roof tearing off the top layers they’d just installed and cutting into the roof with circular saws to install the new vented ridge cap. I was impressed with the willingness to keep his word. Finally we came home to find them painting, yes painting the replaced plywood, rafter tails and facia boards. I’m so impressed with this company. It’s obviously a family run business, their employees work hard and seem to be treated well. I cannot find one reason from price to job completion not to recommend them. You cannot go wrong using them to repair or replace your roof! “It's been a year since Hodne Construction completed my solar panel installation and roof replacement/augmentation. I have to say that I am extremely pleased with the work, the working relationship, and the continuing support from Doug Hodne. When you hire a contractor for a job of this scope and expense, you want someone who is trustworthy and competent. Doug Hodne has both of those attributes. The solar panels were engineered properly and it has reduced my electric bill very close to zero. In addition a get money back from the electric company every year. Doug also assisted me with the protocol for the electric utility getting refunds instead of credits and the necessary permissions to operate the panels. I was wary of the competitors who promised lower prices but knew they wouldn't be around to maintain the equipment should a problem arise. Hodne Construction will be there as long as there is useful life in the equipment. No problems have arisen with anything and I can say his performance is flawless. I would highly recommend Doug Hodne for his performance and quality at a fair price. He also installed my solar powered skylights as part of the roof improvement and upgrade contract. Skylights can be tricky because of the weatherproofing required. After several rains, there are no leaks anywhere. If you hire Doug, you can't go wrong.”
