This place is definitely a good little hike and great get away from all the nasty riverside traffic and people. Just be careful for the rattle snakes they come out in the spring and summer.
Moderate to easy hiking trails and wilderness area. Most trails here are unshaded so prepare well during warmer sunny days. I hiked in early March after a strong rainy winter and the hills were lush and green, an abundance of wildflowers we're present and a small creek was flowing in the lower canyon. Overall a nice place to get some exercise and fresh air. There is a parking lot and a nature center but be sure to check the hours before your visit if planning on using these amenities.
This place is a gem! I went first time. Had my dogs (leashed) and picked up after (if you bring dogs please do the same) ... So many trails! People walking, riding bikes, running great places to just sit and reflect. I will definitely be coming back! The nature center there also has events. I saw birds, butterflies, squirrel and insects... Good time, enjoy!
I walked some of the trails of this park with my grown daughter and our two dogs. It is a beautiful southern California landscape. It is a wilderness park so be careful of the rattlesnakes. My friend's husband was bitten by one at this park. We did not encounter any snakes on our walk and our dogs had a wonderful time. We walked in the late afternoon and watched the sun set over the California hills.
This place was so fun for mountain biking. I loved how undulating it was. There are trails here for people at all levels. Also quite beautiful. There is a lot of construction going on all around it. I guess they keep closing it in so go while you can.
