  I was referred to Dr. Shen by my allergist, Dr. Sameer Gupta, who is awesome. I was very impressed with Dr. Shen. He seems more about the science of the health field then he does about the dollar. He was exactly on time for the appointment. His staff took me back on the dot, the, it was less then two minutes before Dr. Shen came in. He was thorough, helpful, and friendly. He didn’t talk down to me but did explain in English, not medicalese. He made copies of all the lab work, doctor notes, etc., that I brought with me from my other specialists’ appointments. I feel very confident I am once again moving forward to finding a diagnosis.

  I am so impressed with Dr. Shen and his approach to dermatology. I had skin cancer growing on my nose. After the exam and biopsy determined the type of cancer he had me come to a free informational briefing for new patients. It was just that - free information! And it was great! We are now treating my cancer with prescription topical creams, rather than disfiguring surgery, and at a fraction of what surgery would cost. I was able to get the medicines at the lowest Rx costs because Dr. Shen sources the least expensive pharmacies for his patients. Which doctor do you know that does that?! Dr. Shen is brilliant, enthusiastic, and he seems to truly care about not only his patients' wellbeing, but also about costs. His philosophy seems to be that educating his patients is the best preventative. If you want to put yourself in the hands of a cutter, go to someone else. I'm referring all my friends to Dr. Shen because he gets patients involved in their own health. After seeing dermatologists for many years in many parts of the country I am convinced that I am now under the guidance of one of the country's leading dermatologists.

  Dr. Shen is the most outstanding dermatologist I've ever been to. Unlike most dermatologists, he treats cancer with topical creams, avoiding costly surgery and scarring. He truly cares about his patients - not about making money. My dad comes from Yucca Valley to see him and my brother's family comes from Arizona he is so good. He cured a huge cancer on my dads face with a prescription cream. His previous dermatologist was surgery crazy and disfigured his nose with a surgery that could have been treated with a prescription cream. Dr. Shen is the BEST!

  I've been going to Dr. Shen for four years and have never known him to over-prescribe or biopsy indiscriminately. On the contrary, there have been times when he has recommended over-the-counter products or "old-world" prescription medicines that he dubbed "oldies-but-goodies." Simply stated, he's into prevention (I'd highly recommend one of his free seminars), mainstay treatments (when appropriate), and cutting-edge strategies when modern medicine is the best approach. He's a friendly, fun, enthusiastic guy who seems to love his work and wants to help his patients save money and headaches when possible. He's also very good about sharing his knowledge and the latest information (thus the seminars). I like the way he integrates me as a patient into health care problem solving. I also like the fact that his office is clean -- even serene (you'll see what I mean when you get there).
