  Tours LED by very knowledgeable docents the first Saturday of every month. Learned a lot about the early history of Elk Grove (including how ironic it is that the historic old Town district was originally known as "new Elk Grove").
  Outlying buildings include a blacksmith's shop and jail. Nicely planted gardens.

  They are wonderful people with great knowledge about these buildings. The Christmas declarations are as good as the Christmas fight night. So many people put in hundreds of hours doing this. It is a must go see.

  Wonderful community works to preserve Elk Grove's history. They have various events during the year and the events are so well done. Thank you to all the people who keep this in their hearts for all to learn and realize.

  Really good Christmas event with a great Santa Claus.

The Elk Grove Historical Society and the Native Sons of the Golden West will re-dedicate the finished remodel of the Foulks House. A plaque will be installed and Dennis Buscher will have a presentation of the story of this incredible family. Actual family members will be on hand at the event.

The Elk Grove Historical Society had its beginnings in 1962 when four local women came together with the thought of preserving our rich heritage. Once the school was moved to Elk Grove Regional Park, saved and restored, the Bicentennial Committee became the Elk Grove Historical Society.
