Gabriel was super welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional. A chef for many years, he has extensive knowledge and a huge collection of knives, as well as tips on how to maintain them after purchase. Had a knife sharpened and tip repaired here and it came back looking and cutting like brand new. Will definitely be back here with all of my cutlery needs.

I recently purchased a knife via Crocker's online shop. The owner, Gabriel, contacted me shortly after the purchase to let me know there had been a minor mishap with the blade edge of the knife while getting it ready for shipment, and offered me a couple of options to either refund my purchase fully or make a repair and give a discount, which I thought were both very fair and straightforward options.

He took the time to send me a video of the repair while also explaining in detail what happened and how he was correcting it.

I wholeheartedly appreciated Gabriel's honesty, integrity and transparency in the matter, and am fully satisfied with my purchase from Crocker. Oh and apparently Gabriel can put one hell of an edge on a knife, because it came screaming sharp.

To anyone thinking about making a purchase from Gabriel (or using his sharpening services) I say this: Buy with confidence. The man operates his business with integrity.

Gabriel is a very knowledgeable individual. Former chef who knows knives. I brought 5 of my Forschner knives in for sharpening. Quick turnaround. Plenty of knives to purchase along with some sharpening stones and steels. (That last part is an assumption on my part.) He also has limited plates and other items for the kitchen and service. But THIS is the place to get a designer knife and have it maintained.

This shop impressed me and I recommend you take a trip to go check it out yourself. It’s has a really nice selection of curated kitchen items, especially knives, but also boards, bowls, aprons and other things. The owner was very kind and welcoming and unassuming. He is clearly passionate. His primary passion seems to be knife sharpening so of course it’s who I will trust in the future. But it’s also a great spot for gifts or buying a new knife.

I stumbled upon Gabriel and Crocker Cutlery while walking my dog down H St recently.
Intrigued by the cool mod like sign from the street, I walked in.

I first noticed the lovely selection of vintage crockery, glasses and well made cutting boards.
I turned the corner and was greeted by a super friendly gentleman in a mask. He introduced himself as Gabriel and my knife game will never be the same again!

We chatted for a bit and I decided to come back later that afternoon to drop off a few of my dull knives and to purchase a chinois which I had been looking for over a year, as well as a gorgeous vintage mid century chip/dip bowl platter. I couldn’t help myself as it matches my current set of dishes, as if it was made to join my table.

I came back the next day and picked up my knives . Gabriel showed me how easily they cut through a piece of paper like it was nothing. I’m going to have to be careful so I don’t cut myself—these babies are so sharp!

The price was absolutely reasonable at under $30 and at that rate I will be bringing these back in for regular maintenance.

Prices are based on per inch in length per knife and he tries to turn them back within a day depending on his current volume.

Gabriel is very open and easy going so just ask if you have any questions or an urgent need. He also has experience having been a chef so knows and understands the complexity and quality of knives and how to care for them. What better expert right!?

They are currently open only on the weekends Sat and Sun from 11-6pm so keep that in mind for now when you drop off your knives and need them back. I suggest go early on a Saturday so you get them back on Sunday!
