  I have been coming to ACL for about 2 months now after wanting to get back in shape after my surgery and injury. While I have had trained in various martial arts throughout my life, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from capoeira. Honestly, I was a bit nervous wanting to try this out since I wasn't sure what I can and cannot do physically anymore.
  
  However, I'm so glad I started! Training with Mestre Aranha has been very positive and fun! When I entered this studio I was out of definitely out of shape, not as confident in my physical abilities, and just overall, a bit nervous. But Mestre Aranha has been very patient, easy, and overall just a great teacher. He's the type of teacher that genuinely wants you to get better every single time you enter the studio. Not only that, he has created a culture of positivity and motivation among the students. Everyone is willing to help you get better no matter what rank you are or what they are. It has been a very fun experience.
  
  So, if you're simply looking for a place where you can earn belts/cords as quickly as possible - this isn't it. But if you want to come to learn fun, unique, martial arts, and improve your overall fitness abilities - come check out ACL. I promise you won't be disappointed.

  I had my first official Capoeira workshop with Aranha in 2010. It was the first event that truly kept me training in the following years. Always dedicated to his craft and students, Aranha takes the time to help each student understand the art and culture that is Capoeira. I've had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Aranha's students and we all feel the same way. You leave his classes exhausted, but you've made a few friends along the way.

  I trained with Mestre Aranha for about three years. He has a relaxed and straightforward method of instruction that manages to put you at ease while allowing you to understand all the subtleties of a particular movement or sequence. His classes are engaging, full of energy, and a CRAZY good workout.
  
  In addition to all that, Aranha's just a really great guy, and his classes are super fun. I'd definitely recommend trying his school out - you'll be glad you did. Axé!

  I trained capoeira for over 5 years and Aranha was one of the best teachers I had. His attention to detail was second to none. He has a great personality -serious about the art but never without a smile on his face. He also has the ability to give you one of the best workouts of your entire life. Train here... NOW!

  Aranha is not only a patient and effective instructor, but also a kind and knowledgeable one. He teaches all of the aspects of the art and creates a comfortable and safe learning environment.
