I was lucky enough to be part of the 2018 GJEL Summer Internship Program, and I am so grateful that I was allowed to have this experience! There staff and lawyers were all so kind to us, and went out of the way to make sure we were interested, comfortable, and cared for. We had multiple guest speakers every day, which exposed my peers and myself to different areas of law we had never thought about before. Furthermore, we were even taken on a trip to the Oakland Courthouse to see a hearing in real life. In contrast to the other law programs that I applied for, which required thousands of dollars, GJEL was completely free. They even covered lunch everyday! Along with my newfound knowledge about the legal world, I have also acquired a respect for this firm and the work they do.

I recently had the opportunity to participate in a one-week high school “Introduction to Careers in Law” internship at GJEL. My experience during that week was incredible. Over the course of one week I went from knowing almost nothing about the various fields of law to knowing what type of lawyer I wanted to be. GJEL organized numerous speakers to come talk to us, including law professors, in-house counsels at large businesses, immigration attorneys, and many others. Everyone at GJEL showed complete commitment to ensuring we had a full overview of what being a lawyer entails.

All of the attorneys and assistants at GJEL were so kind, dedicating their time to explain their jobs and experiences to us. They explained how they help fight for clients who have been injured and are unable to represent themselves. They answered all of our questions, taking time to help us understand their job. This gave me a first-hand glimpse of how hard everyone works to help bring compensation to clients. Everyone at GJEL was amazing and I am so thankful to GJEL for giving me an introduction to careers in law.

Luke, Andy and their team were so incredibly helpful and compassionate in my case. They were also extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I felt very confident in working with them.
