  Yesterday, I made the mistake of thinking I could get a thermal fuse for my Whirlpool dryer from Home Depot. I had looked online, and it was listed as "in stock" in West Sacramento and Natomas. When I actually walked into a store to get it, associates looked at me like I had three heads. I then called Manuel Joseph Appliances, and a guy there referred me to W L May Co. I was in the Natomas Home Depot parking lot while trying to describe on the phone what the fuse looked like, sans a dryer model number or any identifying number I could see on the plastic body of the fuse itself. The woman at W L May sent me a text photo of a thermal fuse she believed matched up. It did. Arriving there on Market, the same woman was very personable in completing the COVID distance-mandated transaction. My dryer has now been resurrected. This experience was yet another reminder to support independents because of the quality support and knowledge you will receive. It's especially important in these times.
