“What makes these people unique are the counselors who work here. They are kind, patient, compassionate and understanding. They truly put all of themselves into their work. Somehow, they foster an enduring sense of community and healing, essential but so elusive for people just getting off alcohol and drugs... Do not judge this place by its humble appearance, the grounds are well maintained and the food very good, but those things are not why you should go to rehab. Go for the people who will meet you where you're at, accept you as you are and help you take the first few difficult steps out of the abyss of addiction. Years later I still see seeds sprouting from conversations I had while there, almost three years ago. I am a better man for having been there in ways that were not initially clear to me. Framework/curriculum is largely AA. If that's not your thing, consider going here anyhow, whether or not you end up in a 12 step program later on (I did) the essential material is still absolutely helpful.”

“We saw our mother/MIL after almost a year and it was such a relief to see she was taken well care of especially by the vibrant caretaker Reshmi. I can’t say that our experiences have always been great with Double Tree but I can surely see the improvements. I wish they could return calls more promptly too. We leave our loved ones there because we don’t have a choice, not because we want to and we would like to believe that the staff are well trained, well paid and are compassionate towards our loved ones. My husband has been disappointed with the attitude of some receptionists there but all said and done our complaints are heard and we do get a call to say that our grievances will be looked into. Thank you Reshmi and the other staff members for making a difference to our family.”

“I went to the university Blvd, JAX,FL location, across from Memorial hospital. Overall very good. Facility was good (could hear the ambulances on the road every once in a while but not too bad. The scheduling staff was great. So is the clinical staff - Marco and Kirstin took care of two patients each. The ONE THINK TGAT I REALLY DISAPPROVE OF WAS THE GLUE TAPE TGEY PLACE ON YOUR FACE - I am now worrying about creating facial hair problems. When those sensors are taken off your face - peeling them off quickly - the tape "shaves" your face from hair (I NEVER shaved my face) and I wonder if the hair will niw grow stronger or faster. Marco was great - he was the one who initially assisted me into the building. Kirstin was my technician and she was very good too. There was only one single little time when she gave me just a little bit of attitude - I think her other patient (whom I could hear talk to Kirstin through the wall, while being wired for the sleep study) - that lady-patient agitated Kirstin just a little bit and when she came to my room she was a little impatient with me, but that was just one time and one sentence and then she was great for the rest of the night - brought me everything I needed and took good care of me. While trying to fall asleep there was a little too much talk noise in the hallway between staff, but not for too long. Then in the morning one of the staff was working in the hallway in front of my door refilling their cart if supplies and the noise of plastic wrappers was too long and bothering. But overall the 6-7 hours of sleep with interruptions and with my own waking up were as good as can be when wired with so so many tapes, glue and wires all over scalp, face, chest, finger squeeze fir oxygen monitoring, etc.”
