(October 21, 2022, 12:50 am)I love big bear. The San G mountains have been in my back yard my entire life. I've spent many months camping the Jenks lake area. Wonderful rangers. Closed seasonally for winter. Call ranger Station for park info. Clean showers are great.

(September 8, 2021, 3:50 am)We had a great time at this campground with our friends. The sights are large and it's fairly quiet, except for the wolves howling at 3 am. There are plenty of tall trees which give natural shade. My only issue is the bathrooms. No soap, no paper towels and ran out of toilet paper. Just bring your own and you'll be good!

The forest service supervisor made us feel right at home and he and his family would drive and ask if we had any questions and it is how we found a lake a short drive from there ... Not for swimming but for kayaking and fishing.. Heading back this summer as well and highly recommended. Clean restrooms and surroundings. Bring a camera as there are plenty to see and photograph. Be a friendly neighbor and say hello to you fellow campers as it adds to the experience! Enjoy!
