Trail was great, not too strenuous. Saw plenty of Steller's Jay's, Mountain chickadees, a few Northern Flickers, a Cooper's Hawk, some gray squirrels and chipmunks, and plenty of flora!
Gets some snow, so that's fun. We only walked on the trail a short time.
Some patches of snow last week probably all gone this week but when winter comes again good place to hike and see snow don't forget need a pass to not get a ticker also have to make sure rlnot to park on the road even just a tire on the road will result in a ticket
A beautiful place. Read parking signs very carefully so fire trucks can get through and avoid tickets and towing.
You can explore wonderful areas from here. Please remember to clean up your trash and help the forest by grabbing a little extra. It is starting to look bad but it can be turned around.
Stop, look and listen. I’ve seen a momma bear and two cubs, deer, owls, eagles and all sorts of other creatures. Just not all on the same day. This is the forest. Not Jumanji. :)
This place is very crowded on busy weekends and the parking lot is very small. There's no parking allowed on one side of the street and people are pretty crazy about coming in and out of that parking lot. There are literally 10 spaces in the parking lot but if you can park, the place is great. It has barbecues and a fire pit. It's a great place to sled but be careful because people do not pay attention.
