  Good fire road hike with lots of elevation gain over a short distance. Look out closed so we couldn't go up for the best views.

  Great mountain bike climb. 3 miles long and steep!! One of my favorites.

  It is a nice hike. You can start from the turnout at 38 or drive up the trail. There is a fork. To go to the lookout, turn left and walk through the metal gate. The fork is about a mile from the bottom.
  
  Vegetation is low shrubs. I have seen snow during colder months.

  This is a review of the trail that leads to the Morton Peak lookout. It is an easy trail, roughly 5 miles up and down, slightly over 1000 ft elevation gain. Park on a little dirt patch at the beginning of the trail on the left of Hwy 38. The trail is wide. Nice views of San Bernardino peak and surroundings. This spring, there is a lot of greenery and wildflowers. The best time to hike is early evening in spring and summer, because most of the trail is shaded in the afternoon.
