What a great location to praise the almighty. Sunday is pretty cool. Pastor Sylvia is amazing. I highly suggest checking out the interior and exterior, beautiful craftsmanship
I have been a member of a few churches in the southern California area in my short life, from Prespitarian, Friends (Quaker), several Calvery Chapel(Baptist), and some of the New age like Crosspoint and The Rock. Never have I felt more seen, supported, included or needed. This church brings the right mix for my Wife and myself, of traditional worship, progressive values and thoughtfull comunity.
Within a few weeks of entering the building, we where ready to join in membership with this loving community. We fell for the beauty of the building, but where fully ensnared by the love we felt eminating from the congregation.
We can be known as "The Gay church" by some who see our Pride banners on the Euclid side, and I have repaired a fair amount of vandalism likely steming from that. We stand firm in our conviction, we are proud of who we embrace and support, we stand strong with each other and welcome our neighbor to our arms. For when asked by the Pharisee what was the most important commandment, Jesus said to love your God, and to love your neighbor.
Come see the beauty of this Historic Church, come and whitness how truely beautiful a family in Christ can be.
My husband and I love this church and the members. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, we immediately felt the sincerity and genuine care for all people. I recommend this church to anyone looking for a great sermon and the feel of family of this congregation.
My husband and I first attended this little gem of a church for a musical program but what we found was an amazingly inclusive group of loving christians. We love the welcoming environment and the historical surroundings. We would highly recommend this church if you are seeking a new church home.
My Son and Fiancée attend services at Bethel Congregational. They invited my wife and I to attend a concert of the Choir and Orchestra. The church is such a beautiful historic building with so much character. The music was absolutely top notch and the people were warm and inviting. Pastor Sylivia made sure to introduce herself and made us feel like part of the family. Unfortunately we live too far to attend on a regular basis but we will be back as soon as we can.
