Cable Airport

Good food and friendly service. Prices in line with other coffee shop/restaurants. Fantastic views of Mt. Baldy area. Close to the runway to watch the airplanes.

Cable Airport is a privately owned airport. Dewey Cable scratched his little hunk of Heaven after World War Two and it is now probably the largest privately owned public use Airport in the United States.

If you like watching airplanes take off and land the Cable family built you a nice area on the north east end of the Airport where you can park your car and eat lunch. That view area is on Benson Ave just North of 13th Street. You can also go have breakfast or lunch at Maniac Mikes Cafe they just expanded their patio which allows better views of airplanes taking off and landing.

I'm very impressed with the food and service! Excellent!!!! Watching people fly in and park their planes like automobiles, coming into the Cafe, eat and take off again is really fantastic. Made me feel like a kid. Watching the private and I think plane taxi's landing, drop people off and taking off again. Wooow. Take the kids, grandchildren there to eat. They will love it. I can go on and on. But I will end here.

Home, sweet home! Thats what I say every time I return from a trip. Best airport around. Friendliest bunch of pilots/owners you could meet up with, and a great restaurant named Maniac Mike's on the field where you can watch planes of all sorts taking off and landing - up close - from the restaurant's awesome outdoor patio!
