(December 16, 2016, 12:21 am)Mac nuts grown in California? I recently ordered by phone after viewing their web site, a 5 lb bag of premium in-shell dried macadamia nuts from this farmers coop. While their nuts are a bit smaller than the ones I purchased on the Big Island of HI, they have the creamy white color, wonderful flavor and nice chewy crunch of fresh dried nuts. (I try to avoid purchasing processed, seasoned, salted, roasted nuts.)
Family, friends, and visitors love using the levered nutcracker to open their snacks. It sure beats the cheap plastic screw cracker that was sold with a netted bag of mac nuts at Queens Island Gourmet Market in Waikoloa Village along the Kohala coast. 1/3 or more of the mac nuts I purchased there were large and uniform in size but moldy, rancid, brownish, or bug- infested on the inside.
If you live on the mainland, why buy more expensive Hawaiian-grown mac nuts when you can get them in California? Mirna answers the phone is is very helpful. You are not charged until product is shipped. There is a shipping fee, and no, their nuts are unavailable on Amazon Prime. If I'm ever passing through Escondido, I'll make a point to visit them for more nuts.
