“Good trails but a little crowded on the weekends. Better to visit during the work week.”

“This is a cool place because of the location you really feel like you're getting out of town when you go to Hernandez Hideaway. Is 2/2 was somewhat friendly and the service was good and their beans and rice are very good. The prices are more that I would rather pay for a meal of Mexican food but the beans and rice alone were reasonably priced. The salsa was authentic tasting and I did not like it very much. It was a little too hot for me. But I would go back there in a heartbeat for their beans.”

“Had a blast walking this trail with my kids. The only problem was making sure we moved over the people on bikes. Overall it was a nice hike for the whole family.”

“Nice easy trail for hikers but watch out for the mountain bikers, they ride really fast on these trails.”

“It's a great trail for biking and jogging. Just be very careful, there are a lot of coyotes and snakes.”

“A nice fairly flat walk under oak trees that's easy to get to, a few rocky spots to cross. Lots of cyclists on trails during weekends, week days are quieter. Beautiful during rainy season.”

“I love coming to lake Hodges to walk my dogs, take a quick hike or just unwind. It's always beautiful no matter the day or weather conditions so you'll never be disappointed. There are also plenty of mountain biking trails for those who are interested. During the winter months the lake is "closed" but you can just park on the street and walk in. Lake Hodges is open to fishing and boating during the summer months.”

“I'm not sure that I could ever adequately express in words the invaluable role that Anke has played in my healing journey, but I sure would love to try! She has truly been like an angel to me, providing the most spectacular support throughout my process of awakening. Her capacity for holding a safe and sacred space is remarkable, and she radiates an energy that allows me to be more open and trusting and receptive and vulnerable, all in the most empowering way. Because of her gifted, intuitive, tender touch, my time on her massage table has allowed me to experience much needed deep release in my body, something I have found to be incredibly illuminating and nourishing. Our work together has been the perfect complement to my therapeutic journey, helping me to get out of my head while gently guiding me to a deeper connection to my body and to the precious wisdom found within. Anke has supported me in the most profound way to discover new layers of myself and to embody new levels of peace and acceptance with where I am in my process of transformation. It's difficult to convey how liberating and refreshing that shift is for me. It has been such a blessing. In her presence, I feel beautifully witnessed and affirmed, exactly as I am, and the reverence she clearly has for the healing journey is both inspiring and enlivening. When I think of Anke and all that she has contributed to my healing and the difference she has made through her fierce compassion, her grounded guidance and her loving encouragement, I feel infinite gratitude. Carrie G.”

“Absolutely gorgeous area with phenomenal views all the way up. Not an easy hike on account of how steep the trail is; make sure you're wearing good shoes that fit well, otherwise on the way down your toes will be toast! 1.5 miles up from the trailhead off of Del Dios hikers arrive at a sign indicating the crossing-over point into the Olivenhain Reserve, as other reviewers have mentioned. I'm looking forward to going further than this (turned around at this point due to impending rain), as there are clearly many trails to explore in several directions across these reserves.”
