  This school is a blessing. The kids are amazing citizens. It has a school culture like no other and my two children are very happy with their teachers. There are so many options to allow flexibility within their learning styles. Perfect for our family.

  We love Coastal Academy! We have been here since kindergarten and love it. The quality of kids that attend here are amazing. We really appreciate the character building they place in their children. We love the flexibility and classes offered.

  Sad to leave this school for CAHS next year..... This is the best. Period.
  
  Update: 5 years later, this place is still great. Amazing, supportive culture for both student and employee alike. This school gave me a great education before, but now it has given me one of the best first jobs anyone can ask for. Thanks Coastal!

  We have been with Coastal Charter for 1 year. We have 2 students attending this school and a 3rd child who will enter next year. Here is what we have seen since migrating to this Charter system last year.
  (1) Their traffic control is phenomenal. They actively ensure that cars follow traffic laws. There are a significant number of employees and volunteers ensuring safety during drop off and pick up. Does this mean they can control the adult parents/guardians who leave the campus and J-Walk across the street to their parked cars in other lots? No, this is not the school's fault, nor is it their responsiblity to babysit these parents. CA State law says that once the child is dismissed to the legal guardian and walks 1 step off of school grounds(notice the OFF SCHOOL GROUNDS WITH THE PARENT) the child is NO LONGER the school's responsibility. For this reason, the school should not be judged because some children's guardians do not follow traffic laws. Have you seen the drop off/pick up at the surrounding public schools? The surrounding schools are seriously violent hazard zones with seriously dangerous parents throwing objects at each other in front of kids (I've seen it!). Coastal is heaven compared to those places.
  (2) Although only a 2 day a week school for K-6, the academics are great. Most of the teachers are great and the student accountability for their own work beginning in Kinder is wonderful.
  (3) The school is exceptionally clean. I've worked in hundreds of public and private schools all over the world and this school, is by far, one of the cleanest.
  (4) Most of the faculty and staff are very friendly and happy to help at any time.
  (5) It's a safe and secure school with ample opportunities for kids to grow through positive encounters.

  Great Charter school in North County San Diego, the teachers are great and my daughter has been attending it for quite some time and loves it. The school is pretty new, only over 10 years old and has lots of resources. Just one minus as they got rid of their library to make more space for classes, otherwise great school.
