Dr,. Hartman repaired my complete Pec Major tendon tear with the standard re-attachment using sleeves into the bone and ties. The accident occurred from water skiing. He performed the repair 3 weeks post accident. Text book repair and recovery. Its been 6 months, scar is minimal, ROM is 95% improving, strength 90% improving. . I'm back in the water surfing and just started Golf again. I expect to be at 100% in a few more months. This isn't to say it wasn't a journey and that I didn't have to devote time in the gym, commitment to the PT which was 4 months, twice a week, however for a tricky surgery and an uncommon one at that...grade A Mr. Hartman. At this rate, I'll be in even better shape than before (minus heavy bench pressing (which i don't care about) .
I was lucky enough to have Dr. Hartman to help fix my shoulder issues. What I like is that he really took the time and provided the personal attention to learn about my personal injury history as opposed to some other Drs who just rush from patient to patient. His team of techs and admins is also extremely professional and made me feel as comfortable as possible during a stressful situation. I know he is busy as an expert teaching other orthopedists, but if you can have him help you consider yourself fortunate.
Dr Esch replaced my right shoulder five years ago, 2010 and Dr. Hartman who was Dr. Esch's protegee for years, replaced the left last June 2014. I traveled for two hours both times to have these Doctors take care of the problem. They are the best in the business. Dr. Esch being the Head of the Shoulder Institute in San Diego... They are brilliant and it was worth the traveling time and trouble that goes along with that to have these two men take care of my shoulder problems.
I have full range of motion in both shoulders and NO PAIN....the reason for the whole thing..I suffer with chronic arthritis and this has been a blessing. Thank you both.
