Wonderful experience with Adam of Rare Book Buyer. I inherited a small library of old books and need to sell them. Adam was honest, informative, and really great to work with. His offers were fairly made, he paid promptly, and if I ever obtain more books in his specialty, he will be my first choice to sell them to.
I worked with Adam to sell some (75+) old texts that I really knew nothing about. He took the time to look through every title and offered a fair price for the sale of the books. He was prompt and professional in his communications and an all around pleasure to work with.
I am SO LUCKY to have found Adam and Rare Book Buyer! He replied to my email immediately with an abundance of information about a set of books I inherited. He continued to be generous in his offer for the books, and in helping me get them shipped. Adam is a gem: knowledgeable, professional, generous and kind. What more could you want!? (If I could give you more than 5 stars I would! )
I cannot overstate what an extraordinary person Adam Weinberger, the Rare Book Buyer, is. I came across Adam's youtube videos when trying to educate myself about purchasing antiquarian books. I contacted Adam to ask him a bunch of (probably ridiculous) questions about starting a collection. Adam's response was to give me A TON of information, plus his uncompensated time and attention. A few months down the line, I ended up purchasing a beautiful and interesting book from him. It will most certainly not be the last purchase I make from Adam and I can hardly wait to see what the next year brings. I noticed at virtual book fairs that Adam's booth tended to have the most interesting descriptions of books. That is because he knows what he is talking about and does the research needed to understand what he has in his hands. While Adam, of course, runs this business to make money, I find his openness and transparency about how he is valuing his books to be not only informative but also endearing- there is nothing like sharing a passion with the person who passes a object of beauty and value from their hands to yours.
Love your gallery in Manhattan. It’s like an Aladdin’s cave, if only Aladdin had collected books. So glad to know that you're operating on the west coast now! A true rare book professional!
