Ambrogio15 Del Mar

Love Ambrogio 15! This is probably one of my favorite pizza spots in San Diego. It is authentic Italian style pizza, very light and full of flavors. We went to their location in PB and it is amazing. This time we went to their Sky Deck location. We love Sky Deck, so pretty and great atmosphere. This location’s food is still as good as I remembered in their PB location. The foods are very delicious, I highly recommend their Burrata Pizza. The service is good as well. I like here a lot.

The pizza was recommended by the server. It had potato and spec. Very thin crust, but not a cracker crust. The crust still had a nice chew to it. Bottom of the crust had a perfect amount of char from oven. The potatoes were sliced very thin and were perfectly cooked. The spec was paper thin and amazingly flavorful. The server suggested their chili oil on it, which I happily obliged. I would give this pie a 10 out of 10. Actually it is better than that. This was a spectacular pizza!

Amazing restaurant. The location is beautiful and the ambiance is very intimate and well designed! Came here with my wife and enjoyed a five course meal and wine flight. I can honestly say I tasted so many new flavors and unique tastes that I was completely impressed. I loved every dish that was brought out and the sommelier set up amazing wine pairings for every dish. I was completely blown away by the quality and care each dish was put together with. The portions weren't huge but I felt completely satisfied with each dish and pleasantly full in the end. The staff was very attentive and all very nice and towards the end of our meal the head chef came out and talked to us for a couple minutes which was really nice! I absolutely loved our experience here and it felt like the chef and staffed really cared about our happiness and satisfaction.

We knew that our experience would be great considering how amazing their other restaurants (ambrogio 15 pb, semola, and ciao ciao piadina) are, but ambrogio Del Mar rose above our high expectations. The back patio was quiet, beautiful, and relaxing (and Covid-safe!). Isauro’s wine knowledge and commitment to giving guests the best experience are second to none. But by far the best part was the food: the veal appetizer was unique and delicious, the arrabiata pizza featured an explosion of flavors, and the cacio e pepe with smoked cod was innovative and comforting at the same time. The service and timing were perfect. And don’t forget the dessert wine! What a great place to celebrate my birthday! Cannot wait to go back.

P.s. People should know that this pizza is authentic Milanese style, meaning thin and crispy crust. All of the meats and cheeses are fresh and imported. If you don’t want to spend a little extra on the best pizza of your life, then you should stay home and order your $5 fast food pizza. This place is not for you.
