Wonderful vistas, hundreds of hikes and an excellent visitor center. My family loves it here. Beware of rattle snake season, but I have only seen a few. The rangers are very helpful and friendly.

It's a nice trail, not too difficult and it's dog friendly. When we started the trail, there was still some fog around the base which definitely helped us stay cool through the journey. The only issue was that it started to get crowded on our way down as waves of groups started to pass us on some of the more narrow parts of the trail. I recommend getting there early to avoid too much sum/heat and crowds.

Over 7,000 acres and 60 miles of trails. Great place. Fishing, biking, hiking, and mountain biking. Gorgeous valleys and a nice view of the city. Some of the most impressive geologic formations inland from the coast. Looking west from atop the peaks, it's easy to imagine the ancient delta and alluvial fan. Critical park system that serves as a recreational and wildlife refuge for people and nature.

Pretty close to the city and easy to get to. The park seems quite popular so there may not be much parking. You will have to park on an adjacent street most likely.

I hiked Cowles mountain and it was a nice hike. Lots of people on there so you don't need to worry about going solo. It was only 1.5 miles to the peak so it's a fairly quick hike too. The views from the top are nice. You can see the downtown skyline and quite a bit all around id the sky is clear.

The museum is very nice and kid friendly. The staff was very courteous. There was an art show and they even had snacks. Overall it was a great free outing for the kids. Was happy to see that they had real restrooms and not just an outhouse. We will go back.
