  Italian restaurant located on University Avenue in San Diego’s Hillcrest district! Very vegan-friendly!

  I was shocked to happen upon this place while walking from Balboa park. It wasn’t listed on any of the San Diego vegan food lists. Baja sells not only vegan pizza pies with faux meat but it also sells them by the slice, which is something not found in NYC. I ordered the sausage vegan pizza and the vegetable pizza. Made with Daisy cheese (loaded with it)—both slices were very good and very authentic to traditional dairy pizza.
  
  Atmosphere***
  Large space inside with plenty of seating. Everything looked very clean and menu was easy to read.
  
  Service***
  OVery friendly workers at this place. They were happy to answer questions and accommodate.
  
  Price$$
  This gets two dollar signs because of the additional $2 charge for vegan option. A dairy slice is $2 vs vegan option, which is $4.

  Pizza made fresh by the slice. Pizza is pretty decent and staff is very friendly. They offer sandwiches and other food, too. Slice of cheese pizza is only $2 and a 3 topping slice is $3.

  The owner and staff have far exceeded the level of love and gratitude they give towards their customers . I highly recommend this place To everyone . Celebrated birthday there and owner went out of his way to prepare of vegan desert specially made for member of group . Thank You once again you guys were . Check them out , you won’t regret it !
