Duke's La Jolla

I didn’t write on the reservation that we were celebrating an anniversary/birthday and we still got seated in one of the best tables in the restaurant. The food was delicious and our server Shannon was great. My boyfriend made a corny “dad joke” about his water needing to be remade and she responded by building onto it which was hilarious - we loved it. She was very attentive and personable. Amazing views of the Cove. Will definitely return. Thank you Shannon!

There was a wait for our table so we sat at the bar and ordered drinks and an appetizer. All of the waitstaff are super friendly and helpful. I’m always grateful for zero proof cocktails on the menu, and their ginger lime drink was great! We had black bean nachos to share, and I got the Waikiki chicken. I thought the chicken was a little dry, but we had an overall great experience. Beautiful view of the ocean from the upstairs deck!!

We decided to have lunch at Dukes La Jolla during the Wine & Art fair. Three of us had a delicious fish plate with slaw and macaroni salad. My other friend had the chicken and rib lunch. We were all very pleased with our meal and will be back soon. You can sit outside with an ocean view or inside. I've also enjoyed Dukes in Huntington Beach.

You can't go wrong with this great iconic restaurant. The surf and turf dinners are all good. Try the Margareta. One of the best. Coconut shrimp is amazing. The views are spectacular so try and go before sunset. Enjoy!

Where do I begin? Our server was great. I was expecting avocado on my burger, but got guacamole. It wasn't bad, but the lemon juice was very overpowering. What saved it was the bacon. Furthermore, the marinated fried shrimp was delicious. Finally, the fries could use a touch more seasoning. Other than that fantastic place.
