  I took the 5 week beginner course expecting to learn the most basic things when it comes to Jiu Jitsu. I was looking up Jiu Jitsu Gyms all across San Diego, but I didn’t see a lot of gyms that offered a 5 week course where a student began with other people who is new to the word of Jiu Jitsu. Courtney is the first person you’ll meet as that’s a part of the Legion team, personally they couldn’t have chosen a better person. Courtney greeted me with a smile every single time I came in for my class. I asked Courtney every single question I could think of during the orientation, and she able to answer it right away. She also stayed very transparent when it came to pricing which honestly made me want to sign up even more on how genuine she was. Coach Miha and Coach Austin are amazing people. All the coaches are very clear and detailed on how they teach each technique. I did not think that I would learn this much in such short amount of time. I will definitely be coming back for more. Beware the whole goal of the course is to get you addicted to Jiu Jitsu…. Sad to say it works. Hahaha, best investment of your life.

  I love this place. My family is learning so much. By far the best martial arts gym I’ve ever been to. The staff is incredible and the coaches are so knowledgeable. They have a beginners course that is amazing and will get you ready for self Defence or feel confident in a regular class. They recently started a parents class. I’ve never done no gi before legion and it is my new favorite class the girl at the front desk made my family feel so welcome. .

  Where do I start!? I am new to San Diego, and it has been a whirlwind of emotions being away from my mom and family back home. I didn’t know what to do! One thing that is really important to do in new places is to find your group of people and your safe place away from home.
  
  Here at Legion I found just that. There is no intimidation walking into this gym. Everyone is smiling, welcoming and willing to guide you. The beginners class in particular is more than you could ask for! Coaches with patience and a unique style of teaching keep you on track and prepare you for your jiu jitsu journey.
  
  You can easily grasp what they are saying and within 5 weeks you are sparring pretty darn intensely. You will find a home here just as I have, that’s just a fact! So put down your phones, stop overthinking it and come join! You won’t regret it!!

  Absolutely incredible gym. Some of the best instructors in the world. They are very welcoming from the moment you walk in. Regardless of skill level this is a good fit for Day 1 beginners or people with years of experience.
  Truly honored to have training here and made friends that will last a lifetime.

  Went to their open mat today (Easter) as it was a Star Studded Event with a bunch of high level black belts that were open to roll with anyone.
  
  The place is super nice and clean. Huge facility and plenty of grappling Real estate without feeling crowded.
  
  Definitely going again
