The Wayfarer San Diego

Stayed here for 4 nights in July. Nothing beats this location. We have 2 children and loved going out to the beach straight from our hotel. They have a nice shower/foot-washing area by the pool so you can just get right in after the beach. Cleaning service was great here as was the front desk. Free parking was great too. We got a Double Queen room with a partial view and were not disappointed. Every morning and evening we would watch the surfers and see the people on the boardwalk. It's not quiet per se, but that's PB. This location means you can walk to a lot of restaurants, but it's also only a 15-20 min. drive to most of San Diego's largest attractions. This hotel was perfect, we would totally stay here again!

Fantastic location!!! A great midway point between the Pier and Belmont Park. Lots of great food and drink places super close.
The lobby was under construction but it looks like there is going to be some great improvements in the future!
The pool and hot tub were really nice, great sunset views that directly face the ocean.
The rooms were clean and spacious. Not sure if it needs to be requested or not but the daily house keeping service was inconsistent. They came the first two days and then did not come again. We were fine except for the pool towels, definitely recommend having back ups or asking for more. Every interaction with staff was super pleasant and everyone was helpful and nice.

We revisited the Wayfarer on a family vacation with our now adult children and significant others. We loved the updates (we visited Blue Sea Lodge 11 years ago). The rooms were clean. The ocean front King was good overall, just a tight space, but a great view. We all loved the location and laid back vibe. We stayed on a sold out night/weekend and it didn’t feel crowded at all. We stayed during peak season so it was pricey, but we had a great time! We even planned a bonfire with Beach and Bay Bonfires and they set up right in front of the hotel! So fun!
