I have been previously certified and was refreshing my knowledge while my son was earning his certification for the first time. Mike's angle on sailing from his racing background and his depth of knowledge from a career of experience provided us with a great learning experience. The guy hustles and gives one a real education of not just the mechanics and understanding of sailing and seamanship but of the experience of boat ownership, marina life and a local expert knowledge of the San Diego boating community. Sign up and go. You won't regret it.

(July 2, 2018, 8:52 pm)My husband and I booked a 7 day course with San Diego Sailing Academy for our honeymoon. Mike picked us up at our hotel and brought us to the marina, showed us around and gave us everything we needed. We sailed for several hours every day and were able to sail by ourselves for two days at the end of the week! Mike’s instruction style is great, he gets to know you and picks up on how you prefer to learn and tailors the experience for each person. The knowledge we gained from him was invaluable and we can’t wait to take our own sailboat out. We will definitely be returning for the advanced course. Can’t recommend this group highly enough!
