Climbers Loop South Trailhead

Short steep trail to climbing area. A small amount of scrambling on trail at base of climbs. Good trail and great view.

Decent trail. No major ups or down. Would not wear sandals

Great hike. I find it better to hike from the south end to the north, but I have gone both ways.

This trail leads to a bunch of crags for climbing, all closed close together. If you are going to climb, this is a good place to be, but for the casual hiker this is a short but challenging trail that gains a lot of elevation- be advised that at certain points the appropriate safely great for climbing (at least a helmet for falling rocks) is a requirement to continue... But again, if you are here to climb that only means you are almost there.

My girlfriend and I are from Illinois and wanted to check this place out to get some climbing in on our week long San Diego vacation! The rock is slick and we kind of struggled to figure out what was where, even with Mountain Project, but overall we had an amazing day!

This place is gorgeous and the climbing just a short, but steep, hike up from the parking area.

It's a bit of a bummer that they close the gates at 5. If you park off the road past the gate make sure you get your car out of the gates by 5PM! We ended up rushing to our car and getting to the gate by 5:05 but it was still open ????
