  This place is the real deal. Talked to the owner on my first visit. He explained to me how was a third generation baker and his growing up in France learning his family's recipes. Cool stuff. Great pastries and breads.

  Fantastic bakery, authentic feel. Croissants melt in your mouth and tarts are loaded with fresh fruit. Worth the visit any day.

  I was in San Diego visiting my daughter and she took me to The French Oven. A fantastic bakery with tasty breads and deserts. We ordered our stuff to go because we were doing a few things that day. Got home to find that there were some items missing from our order. I returned back to my home in Nevada however my daughter contacted the bakery and told them of our situation. I have to say that the owner (Susan) was very responsive and and made it good. I will return to the French Oven whenever I'm in San Diego for the great hospitality, fantastic items and to support this family owned business. If you haven't been, try and make it if you're ever in the area. You won't be disappointed!

  This is a hidden jewel in Scripps Ranch. However, upon our arrival there were a few customers that gave us some very NASTY looks and they were staring at us.
  The overall service is emacilint and the food was delicious. We were very pleased with the employees and how well they treated us and how fast their service was. Great job guys!!! Keep up the Awesome job!!! We shall be back!????????❤

  I just had their pastries and I must say it was one of the best croissants (if not the best) that I’ve ever had...period. I’ve never been to France but if this is a taste of what it’s like, I’m dying to go more that never now. I had the pleasure of meeting Yves and his wife Susie and they are wonderful...so warm, kind, and inviting! The French Oven is tucked away in a quaint little Scripps Ranch neighborhood that you may miss if you’re not paying close attention, but its location makes it the mom & pop establishment that we all enjoy and has quickly become a little gem in the Scripps Ranch community. I would highly recommend the French Oven if you’re looking for a tasty treat!
