This is personally one of the best locations in all of San Diego. Bring some food and relax to watch the sunset. Fair warning though, get there early as there are limited spots to enjoy the beautiful view. A nice place to walk along even with a hidden beach that takes a bit of a hike to get too. 10/10
Great spot to see a West Coast sunset. On street parking in a residential neighborhood made this interesting. Paths are clearly marked warning signs visible where they were needed. Plenty of paths to walk along with some taking you to the edge of the cliff. There were surfers catching waves and a pod of dolphins catching fish about 100 yards from shore. It was a bit touristy and the clouds didn't cooperate so there was no sunset to be seen. I will head back first chance I get to see a sunset without cloud cover.
It's pretty. Parking is a bear because they closed the parking lot indefinitely. Roadside parking isn't terrible. There is a smell at this beach, but it's windy enough to be barely noticeable. Lots of locals and surfing. Definitely more a local hangout than tourist.
Beautiful scenery and a very relaxing time. If you have the courage, you can walk across the rocks to a little beach area and enjoy a pretty private time at this beautiful place. Across all of Sunset Cliffs there's a lot of hidden caves one can have a mini adventure to get to. Really recommend coming here. You can be here all day and have a relaxing and/or adventurous time.
Sunset Cliffs is one of my favorite spots in town, and it might be one of the best places to catch the sunset. It's super scenic, and there's plenty of parking---with some parking lots, and also street parking. Be sure to wear proper shoes, as some parts are a bit rocky. Be sure to wear proper shoes, as some parts are a bit rocky. There's a stairwell that goes down to the shore---try to time it so that the tide is out, so you're actually able to walk all the way down. There's a beach called "Secret Beach" if you time it just right, and it has tide pools. There's a beach called "Secret Beach" if you time it just right, and it has tide pools.
In general, there aren't really any public restrooms---there's one port-a-potty at the very end, and I haven't been brave enough to try it out.
