This was my first office visit with Dr. Akef and it has been very pleasant. Jennifer took good care of me, getting me in for an appointment ASAP and following through letting me know exactly what was expected financially, so there were no surprises. I was actually anticipating great discomfort for two dental implant treatments (I really dislike dental work), but was positively surprised how easy the process was and how fast I recovered post surgery. The work is not complete yet, as I have a 5-month recovery period before the implants are finalized, but I don’t expect anything terrible to happen as Dr. Akef is an experienced oral surgeon and even after one visit, he made sure to gain my trust in his ability. Thank you Dr. Akef and team.
Dr Akef is a very professional and excellent Periodontist Dentist who has years of experience in dental implants and Periodontist Dentistry. I was referred to him by my brother who is a dentist also ( General Dentistry ), He has the latest technology and oral CAT scans, indeed very impressive office equipment's. My wife and I are extremely happy with our dental procedures, very little pain at all during and after the procedure. All staffs are also great, helpful, considerate, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive. We highly recommend him.
Dr. Akef is awesome! His rates are totally reasonable. He should have more reviews. He has lots of experience and gave me a free implant consult which included a free CT scan with cone beam imaging which many other dentists charge a lot for. He knows what he's doing and he uses high quality implants!
I had some bad dental work done in Feb.2017 and needed to find another dentist to fix the mistake.
I interviewed 8 dentists and after getting a free CT scan (shows the tooth from all angles) and meeting Dr. Akef decided he was the one to do the work for me.
A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, and in the placement of dental implants with more training than a General Dentist. I wanted someone that had lots of experience and Dr. A certainly has.
Dr A. told me that the Root canal tooth (an anchor tooth of the traditional bridge) had a crack and infection into the gum where the crack was.
I was very scared to get it pulled since root canal teeth are much more brittle than live teeth.
This morning Dr. A. and 2 assistants sectioned the bridge, extracted the tooth & placed the bone graft. Honestly the only "slight" discomfort I felt was in the needles for freezing, which he did carefully and gently.
I liked Dr. A. gave me assurances, as he was working, that everything was coming along fine and that he was being very careful in removing the tooth, so the implants down the road will be successful.
All in all he was a very gentle dentist & I highly recommend him if you need implant work done.
I am also very happy that he does 100% ceramic implants being that I have metal allergies. I will keep you posted to how things go with the implants when they are done in 10 months.
