  Amazing. We arrived just 20 minutes before closing time on an October Monday (with the new moon for star gazing). At least three park rangers greeted us with smiles during our visit. The museum area is impressive, the bathrooms are clean, and the area around the center is beautiful. After the Nature Center Closed, we spread out our picnic feast on the terrace because they don't close the gates until sunset. I brought my own table cloth and the terrace still feels clean and new -- a lot nicer than the outside eating areas of restaurants (which endure more wear & tear). After our meal we took a few minutes to explore the walking paths near the Nature Center. There is a small amphitheater and a climbing structure made from old trees and boulders. I think it opened just prior to the pandemic so the garden has had a couple years to become established, but it is not worn down because very few people have come to see it yet.
  There is even an EV charger. This building creates more power than it uses and the cost per kilowatt for car charging is very low! However, don't go on a long hike because leaving your EV iplugged in after its battery is full is expensive! The charger is in the circle with parallel parking -- a DP spot behind and a regular spot in front. We took the regular spot, but the cable was not long enough to reach the plug in the front of our PacHybrid. We would have had to enter the circle the wrong way to park with our front bumper near the outlet. We didn't have a lot of time so we didn't charge our battery.

  Enjoyed hiking this trail system lots of wildlife awesome area to relax enjoy the fresh air the in the awesome views.

  Awesome area. Walked into the visitor center and was greeted by Chris, one of the rangers. He was very informative without being overbearing or anything. They had a small museum/display area. The park has some decent trails. Just watch out for cow pies. The trails seem pretty well marked. There are some powerlines running through and part of the park has hwy 79 in view, but they didn't seem distracting.

  Finally we had a chance checking out the Santa Ysabel Nature Centee while spending time in Julian.
  It’s so beautiful, clean and the staffs are very helpful. If you go up to Julian should check out this place, it’s only 2 mins drive from Dudley’s bakery. Nice place for the children learn about nature and wild lives.
