  The river mouth at Del Mar with Christian. I’m relatively new to surfing and he did a great job explaining the channel, ways to get out through the waves, and techniques for catching waves. Easily had the longest rides of my short surfing career! He’s the perfect mix of approachability, professionalism, and humor that makes hanging out with him a great time. Loved it and looking forward to the next time!

  Great lesson! Christian is a great teacher. I felt he was actually invested in teaching me to surf rather than getting me through the lesson. I caught more waves in one lesson with Christian than I had in MANY other sessions combined. Ill definitely be back.

  Highly recommend Progressive!!! Christian is one of the best instructors I've ever had, providing clear guidance while closing watching all of my mistakes (and even a few successes)! I learned a tremendous amount over two lessons that I'm taking back home to my East Coast turf. Looking forward to surfing again with Christian and Greg.

  I've taken 2 lessons so far, and I have only wonderful things to say about the instructors. I plan on continuing instruction with these guys because I am learning valuable info about my technique, waves, safety, etc. Christian is a patient teacher who knows how to find your edge and help challenge you just enough - I feel like I am making gains quickly and not just doing the same routine over and over. Best of all, I am having a blast and always look forward to the next session. Definitely recommend!!!!!

  We had a great experience with Progressive Surf on our family's visit to Solana Beach. My 3 boys (ages 11, 9, & 8) have never surfed before and loved the lesson and surf time. Well worth it to have the gear/wetsuits, 2 hr lesson, and expert instruction. Highly recommend it to anyone!
