Had their brisket sandwich and homemade sausage. Both tasted great! The wait isn’t long, but well worth it!
I am from the south and this place is wonderful. They had excellent customer service and I really enjoyed my experience there. The customer service was great inside the store as well ! Great food, great people . One of my favorite places to go to in California so far!
Honestly we were not out for a barbecue. In fact we just had lunch. When I saw this small, inviting shack, with three letters that ring home with everyone, especially those of us who hail from South. I had to pull over and inquire about just how good this place was. It took no time, as A nice southern lady with two arm fulls of take out bags from the same barbecue shack, told me this was the place! I found it!
Well after the good staff took time for me, customizing a sampler meal for my son and I. They included their 3+ homemade sauce’s ( yes I can tell if a sauce was made in the restaurant), Your humble, And ever diligent Google Guide, has found an oral portal to home, and peace of mind. For the 10 short minutes that we enjoyed our meal, I was swept up and transported back to when things were easier. It felt like grandma was still here, and feedin’ me the same q’d up deliciousness! I have to say, my loyal readers, the only thing missing was my grandmothers sweet tea! However, I hadn’t checked the menu. It might be there!
Thank you barbecue shack, God bless.
Pulled pork sandwich was amazing. Plenty of meat, great bun, good sauce. I normally prefer brisket, and their brisket sandwich is good, but the pulled pork was just a little better. Sides are alright, really didn't have room for them after eating the sandwich...but they were good cold as leftovers.
Atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, park table on a busy corner, but the food is worth it.
If you Love smoked meat they have it. Plus this place is a hidden gem. Prices are fair and they always have fresh produce here. People and customer friendly and someone is always willing to help you out in finding what you need. They have a BBQ shack outside there store with daily smoked meats with a menu to die for. I love there food it's great.

I give this place five stars great good great service, you have to go northeast to find good places to eat. I'm from chula vista and they don't have much variety we have to go to el cajon or east county for great food, chula vista sucks, they push what they want on the trendys to include everyone else.
