  Employees are generally pretty nice. Overall the care is good. The one drawback, however, is it is owned by a big corporation. As such, they can tend to overlook things in order to save money. This is an older property and needs some attention. As a case in point, there are about 170 residents here. There is very little outdoor space to speak of, just a few sad umbrellas, providing almost no shade -- and it gets HOT in Vista. The facility desperately needs to invest in purchasing updated outdoor furniture and canopies. Much of the shade is taken up by employees on their break - they should defer to the sickly patients who need fresh air! Also security here needs to be tightened up. There's no receptionist after 5 pm.

  I’m new to Astor Care and began my journey by speaking with Angela. She was so kind and helpful. She arranged a tour for me. As soon as i walked in the door i was greeted by the most helpful and friendly employee. Connie gave my husband and I a tour as we were looking for a place for my Mom. Astor Care is a beautiful facility with friendly and caring staff. This has been a difficult time for my family but with Angela’s help i know it will be a smooth transition.

  My grandpa has been staying here at Astor Healthcare Center (previously LifeHOUSE Vista Retirement home), and so far we've been happy with the service. My grandpa seems to have a good time there , and really likes the nurses that have been helping him. The place is pretty clean and organized. I like how they have a fancy system for guest check-in and -out.

  My mom just moved to the secure unit that they have at Astor on Friday 3/16/18.
  My first point of contact was Angela at admissions. Angela was very thorough with the paperwork and answering all the questions that I had regarding my mom. All the staff that I have interacted with are very kind and helpful.
  The facility itself is very inviting and very, very clean. Today, 3/19/18, I received a conference call with the nurse, social worker and a member of the board to make sure we are all on the same page with my mom. I feel very comfortable and at ease knowing that my mom
  is getting quality care here. Our family made the right decision. Thank you Astor and your staff to the dedication and quality of care you give your patients. I highly recommend this facility
