“A truly amazing place, with the most caring people on the planet. The food alone is outstanding, the modern therapy principles were the best we've ever seen, and highly effective. Helix is onto something which is nothing short of amazing, effective, and applicable to those from all backgrounds. It changed my life forever- when other places have failed. The CEO himself, has a heart of gold and made sacrifices well above and beyond what he needed to, simply to ensure we were all well cared for, and all of our needs met. I have never met a nicer, more genuine man who has devoted his life to running a facility in helping others to this degree. They aren't merely in the business of just a temporary therapeutic care getaway, as so many others out there are. Helix is in the business of changing lives, and arms you with the skills you'll need to foster independence and success for the rest of your own. They have understood and perfected the one principle which brings healing to all in need. This principle is absent from our everyday society and surrounding global cultures alike. Simply put, it is unconditional compassion, and this alone will change you when you experience it. There are no words which I, nor my family have that could thank Kerry and his staff enough for what they have done for myself, and my family alike. If you choose to go, you will not be disappointed. The toughest decision is in making the choice to attend, but when you get there, you will recognize a whole different community of people who are dedicated to changing your life. And they are experts at this. It was the best decision my family and I have ever made, and with that, we all highly recommend it. The best part is that you are in complete control in allowing what you wish to change in yourself, and to what degree- they will support whatever direction you wish to move in. We have never found that anywhere else.”

“Update on what happened The Manager called and everything was fixed and she was very nice and understanding I appreciate it Zero star for this place!! Their Dr’s are no help. I have disable sister who needs a lot of Dr attention and check ups. I took an appointment for her at 3:10 i was late 6 minutes only !! 6 minutes the receptionist tells me that i have to wait for pt’s who will not show up to their appointment and take their spots.. Really?! 6 minutes?! Then when i wait for you guys to see us what’s that i have to wait 30 minutes for the dr every time that i get seen here! I am here to get her immunization update that they have to follow up with us regarding this not me running after them to update it. That’s ridicules. Changing PCP never coming back here again.”

“Dr. Mangine has been seeing both my children since they were born. She is a wonderful doctor. She never rushes us during visits, answers all of my questions, and makes my children feel super comfortable in her office. Her office staff in her new Santee location are also extremely patient and kind. We love Dr. Mangine!”

“Took really good care of me and even though it was really croweded they never once made me feel like they were in a rush or "rushing" me. I had some what of some devastating news and both the doctor and female nurse really comforted me and put things in perspective for me of how things could be worse. Not downplaying my diagnosis whatsoever - they just comforted me in a way that not only made me feel better but able to see the silver lining which is what I needed. Phlebotomist - everyone went above and beyond for me and I am forever grateful”

“I was on a 5150 involuntary in early February and it was terrible. I spent 20 days until I had a Writ Hearing with a judge and he deemed me suitable to be discharged. The things that the Mental Health Staff put on my chart were pure lies and I cried to hear such things said about me. I was discharged with no appointments made nor meds prescribed. They just pushed me out because I was a problem, it appeared to me. I was out 2 1/2 weeks, where I became a whistle blower about the place. I wrote multiple negative reviews to Patient Advocate. And just this past week I spent 72 hours on another involuntary 5150. I was discharged yesterday and the ward 3 South was an entirely different place. The staff said training had taken place and I noticed things had changed FOR THE BETTER. The food was and is great for institution food. So that was not the problem. There is still many improvements needed--for example, the showers I feel were designed and built at the first of this century. You can't take a shower without getting your clothes wet. No matter what you do--I used the handicap showers with a seat and water was everywhere. They made improvement on the doors of the patients' rooms which was a major issue on my first stay. The board that has the staff names on shift changes was not always updated and I admonished them and sometimes they complied. The attitude of the staff, from charge nurse, to MHS, to med nurses improved and at meal times the chaos that happened on my first stay was changed to calm and organized. That's the major changes and I feel my Whistle Blower status had a great change and improvement and I was glad to see it happen, especially for those patients who cannot or do not or are not able to speak for themselves. Thank you, API, for the improvement and continue to do CONTINUAL PROCESS IMPROVEMENT because you're no there yet but you can be a Flagship for Aurora and other institutions that serve the mental health population of San Diego county.”

“I was referred to Perlman Clinic by my employer when I needed some immunizations for a work trip down to South America. Everything was fast and easy. I booked my appointment through their user friendly online portal. On the day of my appointment I showed up about 5 minutes early abs the doctor was able to see me right away. I was in and out in under 30 minutes! Definitely the only urgent care in Clairemont I would recommend.”

“My son was born in the Family Birth Pavilion and we cannot say enough good things about the staff. The nurses were all very experienced and caring and helpful. As a new Dad, I had a lot to learn, but the staff were very helpful and taught me the basics. We were provided a private hospital room for the next two nights post-birth, and staff were wonderful. I highly recommend giving birth at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas.”
