Makes total sense that Sanguchon started life as a food truck before opening a physical shop because the Pan con Chicharron Sandwich has that vibe about it. This is not your bog standard sandwich shop sandwich. I had been out mooching about the shops on Valencia the other Sunday with my bestie and I needed to eat something quick and easy. She had been to Sanguchon before so we decided to stop in. I asked the person behind the counter about the Pan con Chicharon sandwich. He said it was his favourite item on the menu and suggested that it was big enough to share. My only regret was following his advice. After taking one bite, I knew that I would have wanted the whole thing to myself. So I returned 5 days later, alone, and had another. Beautiful tender meat, soft yet crunchy roll and gorgeous flavour. My new favourite sandwich!
Yummy food, i like their lomo saltado plate very tasty, chill vibe for lunch and staff/cooks are really nice. the alfajore was really good and drink was kinda sweet but i just drank some of it and filled it with the free water they have available. So i didnt mind :)
Came here with a friend and thank goodness for a 10% discount from Yelp! Even better reason to come.
Good:
- Solid food! I loved the lomo sandwich - great portion size - almost too much but I finished all of it and got the sweet potato fries to sub which made the sandwich taste even better!
- Good ambiance - easy to hear people and have a conversation
Bad:
- Pretty causal place - no service really self serve
Overall really good place to catchup with a friend - they have outlets which makes things more convenient as well!
We had a rough time choosing since everything on the menu looks absolutamente riquísimo!
We settled on the Pan con Chicharrón and Papás a la Huancaína, both were excellent. We'll definitely have to come back and try more.
Had the Pan con Chicharron sandwich with a fried egg. The pork is a beautiful mix of fatty, lean, and flavorful crunch from the roasted edges and the pickled onions balance it well. Delicious! Definitely coming back here to try other dishes!
