Beautiful hike. Not too scary so can do it with kids. Ideally do it at low tide.
This was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon hiking with my best friend. We went on a Saturday afternoon in September. The sun was blazing which made it slightly uncomfortable, but we made it to one of the peaks in under an hour. At the trails beginning there are pretty nice public restrooms and water fountains. There is also a wonderful view and tons of picnic tables around there. When we were leaving there was a wedding happening next to this large old house at the beginning of the trail. I suggest you bring lots of water and good shoes.
Great place for a walk or trail run, especially if you also continue across the bridge and back and down the beach to the marina. Beautiful views, great place to relax and enjoy nature.
My favorite hike and very close to the Marina. Feels like you have escaped into paradise but only a few minutes from the busy city. I go most weekends and it never gets old!
Amazing!!! Just breathtaking. Found this trail wandering around on my first visit to SF, and to California even, and as an east coast gal I fell in love with the other coast right then and there. You have the option to walk down to some rocky beaches, or sit for a while on their well placed benches. An absolute must-see for anyone able to continuously ascend and descend stairs.
The Batteries to Bluffs trail offers the option to descend a blue-green serpentine hillside that connects to tranquil Marshall's Beach. Ultimately, it connects back to the California Coastal Trail at each end. We highly recommend taking a sunset hike for the ultimate experience, but even on a foggy day, this trail makes for a memorable journey.
