Trailhead for Battery to Bluffs Trail

Stunning views of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. I would often stop to take in the view. The trails are easily walk-able and accessible. Part of the trail was closed off when I visited, but I still got to walk along most of it. Definitely a hidden gem, because I only ran into a few other people hiking the trails.

Warning: during January 2017, this end of the Batteries-to-bluffs trail was closed due to trail damage. We visited again in April 2017 and it was still closed.

This is a short, extremely scenic walking trail along the cliffside between Baker Beach and the Golden Gate Bridge. Lots of fantastic view of the bridge from the west side as well views of the Pacific Ocean and Marin, especially on sunny days (spring and fall). Walkers only on this trail; no bicycles or dogs. The trail is short, but there are lots of stairs and hills. We usually start at Lands End (near the Cliff House) and walk from Lands End to Sea Cliff and Baker Beach, then up the Sand Ladder to this trailhead. Then continue to the Golden Gate Bridge and catch the bus home from there.

This trail is much less crowded than the Lands End Trail, except when hiking or running clubs come through, then it is chaos because of the steep narrow trails.

I love this trail! It wasn't crowded at all and there's a lot of nature and scenic views to immerse yourself in. The trail wasn't difficult to walk and there are a lot of good photo opportunities along the trail.
