  The great outdoors in the middle of the city. Super convenient, clean bathrooms and you can order pizza if the cookout is a fail. Hike down to Marshall Beach in the morning and catch a glorious sunset from Immigrant Outlook in the evening.

  This place is so epic! It's the only place in SF where you can legally camp. It's hard to believe, but you actually forget you're in the city. The night we were there there was absolutely no city sounds. Instead we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean and passing ships. No showers, but super clean and safe restrooms. Fire pits and plenty of open space for a game of frisbee or football. It's a short walk to Bakers Beach or the Golden Gate. Reservations are hard to come by, but if the chances arises, don't miss out!

  Scenic area perfect for camping. Located in a valley, surrounded by trees and the ocean, which is not very far from the ocean.
  
  You get the feeling of entering another time & place when here (without sacrificing progress).
  
  The campground provides tents & sleeping bags with mats, as well as stoves. Fire pits, grill, picnic benches & locked boxes to store food are at each site. I believe the campgrounds are more frequently used for group camping rather than individual families, although I've seen them there too.
  
  The bathrooms provided have running water & regular toilets. Only drawback is there are no showers.
  
  There is an outside faucet to provide water for campers. Campground has receptacles for trash, recycling & compost collection.
  
  The goal here is too enjoy nature, while learning about native plants & animals. And most importantly, leave no evidence of your visit.

Rob Hill Campground | Camping Near San Francisco

Rob Hill has restrooms but no showers. The Great Room and Fire Circle are reserved for education programs only. Reserving a Campsite - 2019 Rob Hill Campground is closed for 2018. The campground will be open April 1 to October 31 for the 2018 season. A reservation and permit are required for camping at Rob Hill.
