Ms.Kraus is one of the best 8th grade teachers i know. She is the Queen of the classroom. Ms.kraus is so inspiring, she makes me feel like i need to work harder so i dont become mediocre. She is one of the most loving teacher ever. Herbert Hoover School is one of the best schools ive ever went to. Ive been there since kindergarten - 6th and then i moved for 7th grade came back for 8th and i am loving it more than ever before.
My daughters kindergarten teacher Miss Mcgregor was absolutely a doll!!! She cared about more than just her studies. She was involved and aware. She was also understanding of our religious beliefs. She didn't force my child to do anything that both my husband and I did not approve of and she was above and willing to alter certain activities to include my daughter. I explained to her numerous times that she didn't have to do that, that I would be willing to accompany my daughter, bring homemade activities for her to do, or simply take her out of the class room while a specific activity was taken place that did not agree with our beliefs (rare) but she always told me that it wasn't necessary. She would perform her teaching duties in a way that was neutral. She was also very empathetic towards us and always said "I hope that my kids teacher would be as understanding about my beliefs as well." I hope that my daughters next teacher is as wonderful as her!!!
The only reason why I gave the school rating a 4/5 stars is because I did have some issues with the school, Not the teacher. When my daughters teacher was out due to a personal injury the school did not notify the parents as to the children having a substitute teacher and how long this would continue for. Information was given to me by the teacher herself and the kids heard through other kindergarteners in other classes. Also, when my daughter had an accident on the play ground that needed medical attention I was not called and no one seemed to have noticed the pain that she was in that day. But I do understand that there is no perfect system in any school and that taking care of hundreds and some times thousands of kids is a very difficult task. Other than those two issues, I'm pretty satisfied with my daughter going here and I look forward to meeting her next teacher and to all the new things she will be learning here at Hoover!!
We really enjoyed this school and the the staff. Ms. Krause was the BEST 8TH GRADE TEACHER. MY son won the Hamilton Award!
First year at Hoover Elementary. Staff have been wonderful. My son's teacher, Ms. Mayfield is phenomenal! Very happy we transferred over from Madison Elementary. My son is in the special education program and through transferring to Hoover, all staff have gone above and beyond clearing all things needed to give him the services that are required. All in all, very happy with the school :)
