City of Brisbane: Brisbane Marina

Beautiful evening!

My wife and I lived on a 40 foot sailboat for about 3 years while we both attended college. At the time, our total living expenses excluding food was less than $500 per month. That included boat slip, boat mortgage, and utilities.

Brisbane keeps their marina in really good shape. I never had any problem related to them. Tenants tended to keep to themselves, not a very social group. But never any problems.

Redwood Marina to the South has dry dock facilities. Redwood does not have as nice a facility, but it's a great place to work on your boat.

Things were cramped living on a small sailboat, no place to put anything we might want to buy. But being able to start the motor, disconnect from the dock, and spend the evening just a 1/4 mile out on the Bay was priceless. No city noises, it was so relaxing.

We would go sailing about once a month, but school required most of our time.

A beautiful place to picnic, bike or jog. It's also the best place to fish. Pretty private and way from the busy city. It is one of the hidden gems of South sf. The best place for peace and quiet.

Great scenery, wonderful and friendly people and very clean. This is the best place to take a walk or bike ride.

Great place to explore. Nice for running, biking, walking, or enjoying the sunrise all along the bay trail.

Lots of people also fish here. Or walk their dogs. I just wish more people leash them. On our last run a woman's two dogs started growling at us while she went into the bathroom. She was totally oblivious and arrogant about it.

Occasionally there are events here too. A few weeks ago was a BMW club auto show. Today was the kite festival. Many days you can also see people fly their model airplanes. Cool place all in all.
