Devil’s Slide Trail (south parking lot)

On Weekdays, there are very few visitors. And most of these are retirees! Gradual uphill walk to a nice vista point. Then, it's downhill to the North Parking Lot. (On Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, I went to the South parking lot and hiked the trail north. When I returned, the SUV next to me had its side and rear windows smashed. We called the San Mateo County Sheriff via 911, but don't know if they finally came. When the owners of the SUV returned they said that several thousand dollars of engineering equipment had been stolen. This is a quite remote location. I'm so sad that this break-in mars my estimation of this lovely trail.)

Nice walk, biking and horse riding trail without cars on old highway 1. Good view of Pacific and migrating whales in season. On extremely clear days, you can see the Farallon Islands 30 miles off the coast.

A beautiful afternoon to hike in the area. I strongly recommend it to anyone who likes to have fun...

Beware the slopes. They are steep.

Beautiful vistas, fresh ocean winds, occasional wild life, and an open winding road await explorers who visit this Pacific coast treasure.
