Kae-dama! Kae-dama! Kae-dama!
When you hear that so many times you know you are at the right Ramen spot.
This has become our favorite spot whenever the temperature hovers around 60F. This place is so much better in all aspects as compared to other ramen places in the San Jose, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara area. We've tried the following entrees:
Spicy tan-tan men: This will be an instant favorite if you like spicy ramen. It is difficult to order something else once you begin to like it. It is not super spicy at all. Just the right amount. The broth is nice and creamy. The minced chicken tasted great and the thick noodles go really well with this ramen. The toppings of spring mix, green onions and bean sprouts compliment the ramen and give it a good kick.
Chicken paitan: This has a more clearer broth as compared to the spicy tan-tan men and comes with thin noodles. It has the traditional chasu like meat pieces for chicken. You can customize the spice level for this one.
Ika karaage: The squid's always cooked perfectly. Not stringy or too chewy at all. The coating too is not too thick. Sprinkle some lemon to get the additional tang if you're missing it.
Chicken Karaage: Delicious meat. Perfectly coated. Apt entree to leave on the table to munch on the entire course of meal.
Takoyaki: We did not like it as much. There was more potato and less octopus.
The Ramen portions are a little bit smaller than other places. SO if you want to be absolutely stuffed order a couple. Totally worth it. Also you can leave out toppings if you are allergic or do not prefer something. They do honor those requests.
Ambience: Casual. Small space. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

The vegetable ramen here is among the best I've ever had. The broth, cooked veggies and tofu in there (added the egg as an extra side), and the flavors combined with not being overly spicy made for a delightful experience. We came on a holiday and thankfully there wasn't much of a wait (you can get on the waitlist via Yelp). The ambience was quite pleasant and our server was friendly and patient with taking our orders. This is located in downtown Redwood City so parking can be tricky but there are spots if you park a bit further away. Highly recommend this great ramen 🍜 spot. Arigato!
First off Nate is a super star. He really helped us through the menu. The food is really great here. We got to tonkotsu. We tried both the thick and thin egg noodles. They were really great. The broth was really delightful. Not too salty.
It was one of my first Ramen experiences. We loved the soup. It was the chicken Ramen with bunch of toppings like corn and bamboo shoot. The grilled chicken had a weird taste and none of us unfortunately liked it. The calamari was OK. Overall the service was great. Staff very friendly. Recommend to families.
Came for an early Saturday dinner and were seated right away (for context a big 49ers game may have had something to do with this). I ordered the chicken paitan, my friend ordered the hakata tonkotsu, and we split the pirikara special.
Highly recommend the pirikara! The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and the chili sauce gave it a mild spicy kick. As other reviews mention the noodles are on the thinner side, but the broth was outstanding - rich and creamy - and really made the ramen.
Service was excellent. Food came out quickly, and the waitstaff were all polite and checked in on us often. Especially impressive since the space quickly filled up with other diners after we were seated. Will definitely be back!
