Eric did my son’s home in San Carlos. With that, the area is incredibly expensive compared to other parts of the USA, but E&S’ prices were comparable. An example was he installed canned lights in the ceiling for the living room and kitchen. His rate is $400 per light. My son had 10 lights installed in a flat ceiling. Eric charged about $3750 for that job. That included materials. Unfortunately, he missed the locations by an inch or more and had to recut another ceiling hole. So now 3 or 4 lights have a crescent cutout that my son has to fix himself. I would have thought he would make it right by repairing the goof-up or compensating the price a bit, but he did neither. E&S is one of the few small contractors who has a permit to work in the San Carlos area. This makes it easier for the building inspectors when they check the work during sign-off.
