Thornewood Open Space Preserve

I've wanted to check out this park for quite some time and a few times we did stop there was no parking. There is a total of nine parking spots plus one handicap spot and it is tight. Make sure to back into your parking spot or else you're going to have a world of trouble trying to get out. Today we stopped there by chance and miraculously someone was walking to their car and we were able to back into our spot. There is a Private Road that is not for pedestrians and the trail that goes alongside of it. This park is pretty small compared to all the other ones and a walk down to a lackluster pond I just don't think was worth the time but I'm happy to check this one off my list. If you walk all the way down it's about 400 ft in elevation not too steep. The one highlight of this trip was on the way up I thought I was taking a shortcut and I found a geocache which was the first one I've ever found. You'll see my signature there. There's a couple of good opportunities to take photos of the bay and Stanford Tower. Of course we did pass a couple families with their kids and the little girls of course complaining that they didn't want to walk anymore. Parents please stop forcing your daughters to go on hikes unless they want to, I mean the complaining is loud enough to make us want to get away from your family as soon as possible.

The best open space

Simply a great park for a hike with dog.. about 3 miles of redwoods mixed with warner open sections

Nice wandering trail through open space area, accessible from two parking areas.
