A great place to take a hike, even with little kids and a dog. The hills can be a bit steep, but those sections are not very long. There are many trails to choose from and lots of nice people to meet. Also, the biking looks like a lot of fun. The reason for the negative star is because of the parking situation, the lot has space for about 20 cars. If you get there later than 9 just park on the street before making the turn onto the Preserve's access road.
It's beautiful now that it has stopped raining and everything is green! There was also a range of easy to moderate hikes that are great for people of all ages. The road to the parking lot is horrible though. It's not wide enough for two cars and there weren't very many parking spots in the lot. A lot of people had to park below and walk to the trail head. I wouldn't recommend driving to the trail head if you drive a car with a manual transmission.
A great hiking area with miles of trails that are in decent condition. The views from the peaks are spectacular and on a clear day you can see for miles. The trails were not to busy when I visited in the middle of the workweek. Overall I had a great hiking experience here.
I found this preserve as part of West Valley Community College's walking/running class. This place has both mild to challenging routes. Lots of locals come during the week. It does get crowded on the weekends. I don't like the addition; however, many people bring their small remote planes and hover crafts.
Amazing hike for all types of hikers. It’s usually busy because the main trails are flat and wide. We love this place and will come more often if more parking was available. Recommend to come early. The views are incredible and picture worthy.

I like the Fremont Older Open Space Preserve. It is not really a scenic hike but it provides a pretty good workout. There are several intertwined hikes. Most are short but the elevation is good. I wouldn't say it is beautiful but it is a quick and efficient exercise. The only highlight is the city view from the Hunter's Point.
