  Our fifth year in this wonderful preschool with my second child! Warm, supporting community of families and amazing, LOVING, CARING and KNOWLEDGEABLE teachers! Kids are learning through play, exploration, and a great variety of fun, age-appropriate activities that are carefully and thoughtfully selected by teachers according to kids interests. Children learn to make choices and engage in something they really like and enjoy while learning at the same time without even knowing it. Parent education is a great and valuable part of this preschool too.

  My daughter had her first experience at MVPNS preschool at 4 years old. She has loved every minute right from the moment she walked in the doors. The teachers are warm, caring and compassionate and my daughter has thrived in the creative, play-based environment. She has gained valuable social and emotional skills and has the confidence to make new friends. She will be sad to leave the school but she is excited and prepared to transition to kindergarten!

  Thi is my daughter's school and she loves it. Great teachers and great classmates. We just moved to US and she learned English from 0 within half a year. Amazing school indeed.

  My 2 year old son goes here. It's awesome free play based school. They do tons of art projects + outdoor play. Part time co-op school for little ones and you get to meet people of the community. ?

  This is our 6th year at MVPNS, and it just keeps getting better. The thoughtful curriculum is inspired by what is meaningful in children's lives and their interests. Children choose to be indoors or outdoors, decide if they wish to participate in a number of beautifully inviting projects, and make connections or play independently. Teachers allow children to be, and make a conscientious decision not to interrupt their play. Parents are welcomed and expected to stay and play on their once a week "work day", and this is the part I enjoyed the most - getting an intimate peek into my child's time at school, seeing how she interacted with peers, what topics were appealing to her, and marveling at the foods she would try at the communal snack table. The community that is MVPNS is the biggest draw - so many wonderful, grounded, and caring families coming together to support one another in the most joyful and challenging aspect of their lives - parenthood! The memories created from this magical school will linger, and I feel so grateful to experience it.

About MVPNS - Mountain View Parent Nursery School

The school was established as a non-profit organization in co-sponsorship with Mountain View-Los Altos As a parent of twins who also works part-time, I was initially hesitant to send my children to a parent co-op, and admittedly, there is a substantial time commitment that comes with all parent co-ops.

Parent and Child Programs. Parents attend class with their child once a week. The child must be of age by September 1st to attend. A warm and inviting start to nursery school, children begin exploring a new environment and build cornerstones of social-emotional development.
