One of my favorite hikes. It is challenging, has beautiful vistas, wildlife, native plants and is well maintained by Mid Pen.
Almost covered trail, it has sufficient grading to give nice workout. Almost 5 mile up and down is good start for any day
My favorite local hike. St. Joseph's hill and Los Gatos Creek trail is a great, quick, calorie burner with a rewarding view of the valley from the top. Check it any time of year, spring you can catch some California Poppy's and other wild flowers.
This is one of my favorite places to hike close to home. If you time it just right you can miss the crowds. It's scenic and serene, with a few horses sharing the trail. Make sure you have plenty of water and if you take your dog be prepared to carry your poop bags. There is only 1 trash bin at the gate.
Nice in town (Los Gatos) hike! I prefer the option that isn't right next to Highway 17 to avoid highway noise as much as possible. It's cool being that close to Eucalyptus (a novelty for me). It's great that there are hills to climb to get more of a workout. As a tourist, the views, are great! It provides a great view of the Bay and the Res.

Hikers walking the Jones Trail or the Saint Joseph's Hill Open Space Preserve will find the first parking area the most convenient. For those using Priest Rock Trail to link up with Limekiln Trail or Sierra Azul Open Space, use the public parking lot at Banjo Point.
